We will focus this study on Supplication (John 14:12-14):

TO WHOM SHOULD OUR PRAYERS BE ADDRESSED?

Answer?

IN WHAT POSITION SHOULD WE PRAY? (II Sam 12:15-17; II Chron 6:13; Ps 28:2; 95:6,7; Dan 6:10; Matt 26:39; Mk 11:25; I Tim 2:8)
Answer?

SHOULD WE PRAY IN PUBLIC OR IN PRIVATE? (Matt 6:5,6; Dan 6:10-13; Matt 18:19,20; Lk 9:28; 23:34,46; Jn 16:33-17:1; Acts 1:12-14; 2:42.44; 4:23-31; 12:5,12)
Answer?

WHAT PREVENTS OUR PRAYERS FROM BEING ANSWERED (BEING EFFECTUAL)?

WHEN WILL OUR PRAYERS BE ANSWERED (BE EFFECTUAL)?
 FIVE PRINCIPLES:

#1 Prayer is getting God's will done on earth."  Robert Law's statement on       prayer is true: "Prayer is not getting man's will done in heaven.  It is       getting God's will done on earth."

#2 Our hearts need to be purified before we will desire God's will

#3 If we delight in God, He will give us the desires of our hearts (Ps 37:4,5;       James 1:5; Jer 33:2,3; I Jn 3:21,22; Heb 11:6)

#4 We are to pray with Devotion, Perseverance, Patience, and with others       of like mind for God's will to be done; until it is done.  Then, we will see       God powerfully move in response to our prayers.  "I tell you the truth,      anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.  He will do even       greater things than these; because I am going to the Father.  And I will do       whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the      Father.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." (Jn      14:12,13)

#5 When we pray with a pure heart, with devotion, with perseverance, with
patience, and with others of like mind, we will see God powerfully move       in response to our prayers.  Our prayers will be powerful and effective!

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Ask yourselves the following questions:  Last week - How often did I pray?  When did I pray?  Did I have a regular time when I prayed?  Did I pray throughout the day?
2. Is there anything that I am doing that could be preventing my prayers from being heard? (See WHAT PREVENTS PRAYERS FROM BEING ANSWERED on first page)
3. What prayers of mine do I believe have been answered by God?
4. In what ways would I like to improve my prayer life?
