HOW DO WE PRAY? VERSES

SUPPLICATION:

John 14:12-14 - "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.  You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it."

IN JESUS' NAME:

[#3)"  "In that day you will no longer ask me anything.  I tell you the truth, My Father will give you whatever you ask in my name [#4].  "Until now you have not asked for anything in my name [#5].  Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete…..In that day you will ask in my name. [#6]…"

I Kings 3:5-14 - "…."So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish right and wrong.  For who is able to govern this great people of yours?  The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this.  So, God said to him, 'Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have you asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked.  I will give you a wise and discerning heart…."

PRINCIPLE #2:

James 1:5-8 - "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.  But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown, and tossed by the wind.  That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does."

John 14:13 - "And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."

PRINCIPLE #4:

Colossians 4:2 - "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."

Matthew 7:7,8 - "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who [continually] asks receives; he who [continually] seeks finds; and to him who [continually] knocks, the door will be open to him."

Luke 11:5-8 - "….I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give as much as he needs.  'So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

Luke 18:6-8 - "And the Lord said, 'Listen to what the unjust says.  And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?  Will he keep putting them off?  I tell you, he will see they get justice, and quickly…"
