MAN'S ULTIMATE DESTINY II
HEAVEN - THE ULTIMATE HOPE
VERSES

New!

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE TEACH ABOUT HEAVEN?
It is indescribable in human terms!
1 Corinthians 2:9 - "However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him”—"

It will be completely NEW!
    NEW heaven and earth!
II Peter 3:12b,13 - That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire and the elements will melt in the heat.  But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness."

Revelation 21:1 -  "Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."

    NEW  Jerusalem!
Revelation 21:10 – "And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God."

    NEW  you!
I John 3:1,2 - How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!  And that is what we are!  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not been made known.  But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is."

Romans 8:29 - For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers."

Ephesians 1:4 - "For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight."

Philippians 1:6 -  "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

    NEW bodies!
Philippians 3:20,21 - But our citizenship is in heaven.  And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body."

John 20:19 -  "On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, 'Peace be with you!' "

Luke 24:36,51 - "While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, 'Peace be with you.'……While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven."

I Corinthians 15:35-57 – "But someone may ask, 'How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?'  How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies.  When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else.  But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body.  All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another.  There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another.  The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.  So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.  If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.  So it is written: 'The first man Adam became a living being'; the last Adam, a lifegiving spirit.  The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual.  The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven.  As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven.  And just as we have borne the likeness of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the man from heaven.  I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed--in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.  For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.  When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: 'Death has been swallowed up in victory."  "Where, O death, is your victory?  Where, O death, is your sting?'  The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.  But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

John 12:24 – "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds."

II Corinthians 4:18-5:1 – "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."

    NEW relationship with God!
John 17:24 - "Father, I want those you have given to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."

Revelation 21:3 - "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.' "

NO more criminals, immorality, and Satanism!
Revelation 21:8, 27, 22:15 – "But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.…..Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life……Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood."

I John 2:15-17 -  "Do not love the world or anything in the world.  If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For everything in the world---the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and boasting of what he has and does---comes not from the Father but from the world.  The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."

HOW SHOULD OUR HOPE AFFECT US TODAY?
