1. Before we were Christians, we, like everyone else, were focused on me, myself and I as the center of our lives.  "For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened." (Romans 1:21)  We were so blinded by our self-centeredness that we were blind to the truth about who God is.

2. I did it "My Way" is a song written by Paul Anka and made famous by Frank Sinatra.  A rock song has this line in it: "It's my life and I'll do what I want." which is repeated over and over again.  These songs are the very opposite of a hymn like "Amazing Grace.  These songs were the theme-songs of all of us before we became Christians.  We thought the world revolved around us.

3. For hundreds and hundreds of years, mankind thought that the sun went around the earth.  It is only in recent centuries that we have come to believe that the earth revolves around the sun.  When we became Christians we saw that life does not revolve around us, but it revolves around God.  He has brought us out of the darkness and into the light and we see what we were once blind to; we now see that He has always been Lord.

4. Now, we see who God is.  Repentance is a change of thinking.  We now have a completely different way of looking at God.  How has your way of looking at God changed since you became a Christian?

5. The Psalms are filled with praise.  We as Christians are able to use them to praise our God.  Worship services are an opportunity for us to praise God for who He is.  How has your attitude toward worship music changed since you became a Christian?
