1. Have you ever felt overwhelmed by a pile of worries - some small and some big?  What you felt or are feeling is anxiety.  There are more concerns on your mind and more troubles in your life than you feel you can control.

2. A friend of Jesus by the name of Martha was filled with this type of anxiety, while her sister Mary peacefully sat at Jesus' feet.  Listen to what happened when she told Jesus about her worries:  "But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.  She came to him and asked, 'Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself?  Tell her to help me!'  'Martha, Martha,' the Lord answered, you are worried about many things, but only one thing is needed.  Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.' " (Luke 10:40-42)

3. How can we ever be at peace when there are so many things that worry us?  Listen to Jesus' words in Matthew 6:25-27: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear….Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"  Listen to Peter's words in I Peter 5:7: "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."  Read the memory verse.

4.  Write down everything you are worried about on the opposite side of this paper.  Take each worry and give it into the hands of your loving Father, thank Him for taking out of your hands, and leave it there.  Did you do it?  How can you know that you left it with God?  You will experience a peace that passes understanding!

Philippians 4:6,7:  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
